Many people like to travel by train, who want to know the BD train schedule. So in this post, we will share the Bangladesh Railway time table of different rail routes of Bangladesh with more. Hopefully, this post will be helpful to you.
Railway communication system is one of the most important and popular communication systems in Bangladesh. This communication system is operated by the Bangladesh Railway, which is government owned and controlled. It is best to travel by train during scheduled times and safe travel. Rail communication plays an important role in the country’s economy through the transport of passenger and commodities.
Rail communication system is not spread across the country, but most of the districts are included. The trains of Bangladesh Railway run on these routes according to the Bangladesh Railway schedule. Since the capital city of Dhaka is located in the center of the country, the trains of almost all routes leave as per BD train schedule (Bangladesh Railway time table) from here. Kamalapur Railway Station in Dhaka is the largest and busiest railway station in the country.
All the routes of Bangladesh Railway are divided into two parts, Eastern region, and Western Region. Bangladesh Railway has separate train schedule for these two regions. Among the eastern stations, Dhaka, Chittagong, Sylhet, Mymensingh, Jamalpur, Kishoreganj, Chandpur etc. and Western stations are Rajshahi, Rangpur, Khulna, Tangail, Ishwardi, Bogra, Dinajpur, Natore, Lalmahirhat etc. Basically, according to the Bangladesh Railway schedule, they travel regularly through both routes from Dhaka.
Bangladesh train types
Intercity, Mail, and Local (Demu/Commuter), these three types of train services are provided by Bangladesh Railway. There is also inter-domestic train service as per BD train schedule. Below is a brief description of different trains-
Intercity train: The train engaged in passenger transport in remote areas within a short time is the intercity train. In this type of train, the seats are very good and comfortable. These trains also have air-conditioned and sleeping seats with more facilities. This type of train ticket price is high, and it takes less time to reach the destination. Intercity trains give a short break for passengers according to BD train schedule at important stations.
Mail Train : Mail trains are also transported to remote areas, but it takes a lot of time to reach the destination. This type of train seats are low and the longest journey break on most stations. The ticket price for the mail train is relatively low. Mail trains are not suitable for long distance traveling.
Local Train : Passengers are transported by local train to nearby places, known as Demu and Community. For example, from Dhaka to Gazipur, Dhaka to Comilla routes. Most of the time passengers get clogged by these trains and take a lot of time to travel. These types of train seats aren’t so good and the rental is low.
Inter-domestic Train : Such trains transport passengers from the neighboring countries. At present, neighboring country India and Bangladesh are two trains for such service. One of them is the Maitree Express, which runs Dhaka-Kolkata route and another is the Bandhan Express, runs Khulna-Kolkata route. According to the India and Bangladesh Railway Schedule, the Moitree Express runs for four days a week, and the Band Express expresses runs only one day in a week.
